Beneficiary identification
Kalyanpuri urban slum is not just the community where Nidhi Foundation is trying to uplift the health and spirits of the children through our programme Mission Nutrition; but it’s also a place which has the maximum amount of migratory population. Mostly, male member of the households have authoritative behavior for any kind of expense or any decision of the family because they are the sole earning member of the family. In such ignorant environment, women are more vulnerable to exploitation.
To empower women in the community, we focus on understanding the interest regarding the skill development training among them, which will eventually help them to become the socially and economically strong and independent member of the family. This research helps us in developing a good understanding of what they want and how we can help. This process of beneficiary identification makes us to know how our beneficiaries are likely to respond, and with the help of that we work to win their support. It is a kind of short listing process for training registration. Basically, the idea behind these steps is Power- Interest Stakeholder Analysis.
Stakeholder analysis
Provided matrix is stakeholder analysis for our programs. This is the rationale behind our program implementation in order to keep it strengthen and productive as well. Following given list is our main stakeholders,
- Central government
- State government
- Urban local bodies
- Community
- Neighboring communities
- Local institutions (such as hospitals, schools and Anganwadi/Balwadi etc.)
- Parents
- Service Providers (intervening organization and trainer as well)
- Service receivers (Individual of particular intervening area) etc.
So according to our power-interest matrix, we have four categories such as Latent, Promoter, Monitor, Defender and how they are arranged in the matrix of stakeholder is given below.
- Latent: (Having high power and low interest) Central government, state government, other urban local bodies, local institutions (such as hospitals, schools and Anganwadi/Balwadi etc.
- Promoter: (Having high power and high interest) Service Providers intervening organization and trainer as well.
- Apathetic: (Having low power and low interest) Community, Parents, Neighboring communities
- Defender: (Having low power and high interest) Service receivers (Individual of particular intervening area) etc.
According to stakeholder analysis matrix, our approaches are in a way that latent category should be kept informed, promoters we manage them closely, apathetic group is our monitoring category so we put our interventions and Activity closely and for defender category we keep informed.
